Soph has been making jewelry since 2020, after taking a metal smithing class in college. During the pandemic, they decided to create their own studio at home where they developed their smithing techniques, while also learning wire wrapping and beading. Before rebranding to Golden Comet Jewelry, they ran another jewelry brand with a friend, Piezas Únicas, that focused on building community by donating to social justice nonprofits and organizing local craft sales. Once graduating with a degree in animal science, they moved to Los Angeles to pursue jewelry making and fine jewelry sales.

Born and raised in California, Soph takes inspiration from their Latino heritage and life on the coast. With a love of the environment and conservation, they do their best to craft every piece with sustainability and ethics in mind, only using recycled sterling silver and gold filled, along with ethically sourced natural stones, glass, and ceramics.
